Frazier Othel Thompson III, known as Trae tha Truth, is a prominent rapper and record executive from Houston, Texas. Launching his music career in 1998, he quickly became a Texas hip hop mainstay, releasing several albums and mixtapes. As a member of the duo Assholes by Nature (ABN) with Z-Ro, he produced two albums. By 2017, he joined T.I.’s Grand Hustle Records as vice president.

Trae is also acclaimed for his philanthropy. He founded Angel by Nature, benefiting Texas’s disadvantaged youth, and Relief Gang, which was created after Hurricane Harvey in 2017 to aid affected residents. His contributions led to the city of Houston honoring him with “Trae Day” every July 22.

He first made a mark on the Houston rap scene in 1998, collaborating with artists like Chamillionaire and Z-Ro. After joining Grand Hustle Records in 2012, his debut album under the label, “Tha Truth,” was released in 2015. Recognized for his community contributions, Trae received the Change Maker Award at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. During crises, he has actively provided aid, most notably during Hurricane Harvey and by distributing essentials to the homeless in 2020.
