Nathan Donald Diaz is an American mixed martial artist and free agent, best known for his 15-year career in the UFC. Winning The Ultimate Fighter 5 catapulted him to fame, after which he secured multiple victories, mostly through submission techniques. Born in Stockton, California, to Mexican and Anglo parents, Diaz began martial arts training at age 11. He initially competed in the California-based WEC and later moved to the UFC, accumulating 16 bonus awards. Diaz lost his debut boxing match to Jake Paul.
