Guests: Episodes with Michael Malice
Meet Michael Malice, a Ukrainian-American author, podcaster, and all-around mischief-maker. He’s the host of the popular podcast “YOUR WELCOME” with Michael Malice, where he shares his unique brand of anarchy, Objectivism, and libertarianism (because one just isn’t enough, apparently).
Malice is also the co-creator and founding editor of the hilarious blog Overheard in New York. The site features submissions of conversations allegedly heard by eavesdroppers in the Big Apple and was inspired by a conversation Malice’s co-creator, S. Morgan Friedman, overhead on the subway.
And as if all that wasn’t enough, Malice also moonlights as a ghostwriter for celebrities. He co-wrote MMA fighter Matt Hughes’s autobiography, Concierge Confidential: The Gloves Come Off – and the Secrets Come Out! Tales from the Man Who Serves Millionaires, Moguls, and Madmen, and even comedian D. L. Hughley’s book, I Want You to Shut the F#ck Up: How the Audacity of Dopes Is Ruining America.
But perhaps his most impressive feat to date is his 2014 book Dear Reader: The Unauthorized Autobiography of Kim Jong Il, which was crowdfunded through Kickstarter and written from the hypothetical first-person view of the North Korean dictator. It’s a semi-farcical commentary on how he is portrayed to the North Korean people and is based on English-language propaganda material Malice collected while on a week-long trip to Pyongyang.
So, if you’re looking for a dose of anarchy, hilarious overheard conversations, and a side of celebrity ghostwriting, be sure to tune in to “YOUR WELCOME” with Michael Malice and check out Overheard in New York. Just don’t ask him to vote. He’s not into that whole democracy thing.
