Guests: Episodes with Dan Soder

Daniel Erwin Soder, born June 24, 1983, is an American comedian, actor, and radio personality renowned for his appearances on MTV2’s Guy Code and his role as Mafee on the Showtime drama series Billions. From 2015 to 2023, Soder co-hosted The Bonfire, a two-hour live radio talk show on Sirius XM, with fellow comedian Big Jay Oakerson.

Soder was born in Hartford, Connecticut, and raised in Aurora, Colorado. He faced personal adversity early in life, losing both his father and sister during his high school years. He found solace in comedy and began performing stand-up during his time at the University of Arizona, from which he graduated in 2005 with degrees in journalism and political science. In 2006, he moved to New York City to further his comedy career.

Throughout his career, Soder has appeared on several notable platforms, including Comedy Central’s The Half Hour, Conan, Cum Town, Opie and Anthony, The Anthony Cumia Show, MTV2’s Guy Code and Guy Court, and Fox Sports 1’s Garbage Time with Katie Nolan. After Anthony Cumia’s firing from the Opie & Anthony Show, Soder was a frequent guest and “third mic” on Opie with Jim Norton. However, in February 2023, Soder announced his departure from The Bonfire radio show, and comedian Robert Kelly was announced as his replacement.

As an actor, Soder has had guest roles on Inside Amy Schumer and a minor role in Schumer’s film Trainwreck (2015). His first hour-long special on Comedy Central, Not Special, was released in 2016. The same year, he guested on the popular wrestling podcast Wrestling Soup and secured a recurring role on the Showtime drama series Billions. In 2017, Soder was part of the inaugural season of Netflix’s stand-up comedy series The Standups. His filmography also includes roles in the comedy Drunk Parents (2019), starring Alec Baldwin and Salma Hayek, and voice roles in the animated series Robot Chicken.
