Great interview. You don’t hear too many saying.that empathy is causing killings and rape and causing some to believe that empathy goes,
not to the victim, but to those doing these things. The leaders, I believe, know this isn’t true but use words like empathy and compassion to get others to stand against the victims and support their agenda. We need more critical thinkers which should be taught in schools. It’s ok to disagree with someone. You or the other may learn something! If everyone thinks alike then they are easier to control.
When I was in college in the early eighties the dean insisted that in our lifetime we would experience higher financial income while only working four day weeks. This did occur but I only heard of one Nordic country that implemented a four day week for all work classes. In the industry I was in everyone was hogging or being pushed to work sixty and eighty hour weeks plus weekends while others sat on unemployment. Fortunately I never believed the dean’s claim because it was an economics teacher at that same college that tried to fail me based on one opening question. “In order to succeed what number would you consider yourself to be if 1 was to do nothing, basically get by on your merits, and 10 was to commit murder.” I was the only student to choose 2. And I was shocked because most were above 7. I successfully regained my A for the course on merit and a refusal to back down although I really would have preferred crippling him. Still not a 10 though!
As for the benign Utopia you were discussing. Ninety-nine percent of people searching for Utopia will pass right through it and not even notice. That still isn’t the reason that it will never happen. I’ll consider the possibility when I see antelope and zebras taking down a pride of lions.
Malignancy has to be cut out by those who recognize it and reject it and all must come to a consensus on it. Without Genghis Benign Kahn it will never happen.
